BRUCE the Binturong (BEAR-CAT)

August 2007
I conducted a distance BodyTalk session on "Sweetness" the Alligator because it was not eating. The digestive system was addressed and everything returned to normal.

July 16, 2007 - Terry is in his late 20's and he was a performer in his younger days. He lives at the Zoo where Lucien, his former human companion/trainer visits him each week. Terry misses performing but feels secure in his enclosure. He likes seeing the people who visit every day and looks forward to the weekly visits from his former human companion/trainer. Terry indicates he is happy but wouldn't mind finding a mate.

July 12, 2007 - I connected with Mowar the Malaysian Tiger. I conducted a distance bodytalk session on Mowar and asked if I could meet "him". Mowar refused to let me visit. After speaking to Zoo personnel, I learned Mowar was a female! I apologized to Mowar for the mistake and asked Mowar if that was the reason for not wanting to meet me. She confirmed it was the reason. Mowar graciously agreed to let me visit her after we cleared up the misunderstanding and she posed for this picture.
Mowar crossed in September 2007 and is very missed by the Director, Zoo personnel and zoo visitors.

January 22, 2008 - I came to the zoo to meet Tayma. Tayma was 17 years old and had been relocated from the San Diego Zoo a week earlier. She was very lethargic and not eating well. I conducted two bodytalk sessions on Tayma within a few days of each other and she started eating and walking around.
After a few weeks, I asked a friend to do a distance Reiki energy healing on the leopard. Tayma curled up in her sleep and crossed the next night. I connected with Tayma to ask if it was her time to go and she indicated she could have stayed another year. I was surprised that an animal could choose to leave earlier than planned.
The BodyTalk sessions revealed that Tayma's body had a difficult time shaking off the effects of the anesthetics or medications that were administered by well-meaning zoo officials to make her less stressed during the move from San Diego to Las Vegas. Tayma told me that she was tired and wanted to go now while she was feeling better from the BodyTalk and Reiki energy work and before the new zoo staff became too attached to her.
It was wonderful to learn that Mowar, the Malaysian Tiger who crossed several months earlier, was with Tayma throughout her month-long stay at the Rancho Zoological Park and also helped her to transition to the other side.
MIDAS the Lion
The Rancho Zoological Park's staff was devastated at the loss of their beloved lion, Midas. Midas had been with the zoo since he and his sister, MG (Maniac Girl), were youngsters. He will be sorely missed by staff and zoo visitors alike. Midas and Mowar the Tiger are keeping MG company in spirit form.
GILCREASE NATURE SANCTUARY'S MEMORIAL SERVICE:
There was a horrific fire at the sanctuary on 3/19/2010 which claimed the lives of 214 birds and one dog, Zappos, who died while trying to rescue the birds. Included in the loss of life were all of the rehab birds and Abraham who I had been doing Bodytalk sessions on to release fears.
There was a beautiful Memorial Service on Sunday, April 7 at 11 am at the Craig Pet Cementery and an Animal Planet crew was there to film the service for an upcoming documentary on pet cemeteries.
*********
ANNUAL SPRING ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR at Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary was held the weekend of April 24-25, 2010.
This year's event was a great success! Attendance is growing and the weather was great! It was a wonderful time to spend outdoors in the shade of the trees with the sun and breezes. Sandra Salinas, Assistant Executive Director, organized a wonderful 2-day program of speakers and entertainment and the exotic animals (baby Cappuchin Monkey, Coatimundi and Baby Wallaby) from Dr. Valerie Holt's Roos-N-More zoo were up-close and personal favorites to visitors and provided unique photo opportunities.
I encourage everyone to visit the Sanctuary as it rebuilds and give it the much-needed financial and emotional support of the community it needs.

Aquarium Animals

Kat and Imaq at the Vancouver Aquarium. Imaq is the only male beluga since 4-year old Tuvaq died unexpectedly a few years ago.
Each of the whales indicated to Kat that they are very happy with their jobs as Ambassadors for the Aquarium.

Kat communicates with Qila - a very pregnant young Beluga Whale. Qila gave Kat the "inside scoop" that her brother, Tuvaq, would reincarnate as her baby when the baby was born. The baby 'girl" (with a male-dominant soul) was born in June 2008.
